Intensive Outpatient Program
Morning track. Night track. Same work.
IOP is the backbone of Riceland Recovery—enough hours in the week to hold a person who just left residential care, flexible enough to keep a job.
What IOP is for
Intensive outpatient is for adults who need more than a weekly session and do not need 24-hour supervision. It is the most common next step after residential treatment.
After residential:
The schedule, the peers, and the counselor replace the container you just left—before old patterns fill the gap.
Instead of another stay:
When home is still viable and work still exists, IOP can be the higher-structure option that does not require leaving town again.
Before stepping down:
IOP is the on-ramp to our longer-term outpatient program. Most people do not jump from residential to “see you next month.”

What a week looks like
IOP at Riceland is not a lecture hall. Most of the hours are group—because isolation is how people lose the plot—and enough individual time that your own story is not lost in the circle.
• Comprehensive assessment at intake
• Group counseling and psychoeducation
• Individual counseling
• Relapse-prevention planning
• Family involvement when it helps and when you consent
• Coordination with sober living or referral sources
Length of stay depends on need. Many people complete a defined IOP chapter and then step into our OP program rather than disappearing.
